Privacy

The short version: we keep your words for 7 days, encrypted, and nothing that says who wrote them.
Your post
We store the text of your post, the field you picked (if any) and whether you allowed quoting. The text is encrypted with a key that changes every day. Posts are deleted after 7 days, and each day's key is destroyed on day 8. After that, any copy left in our hosting provider's backups is unreadable ciphertext.
Your IP address
Cloudflare, our hosting provider, processes your IP address to deliver the site and block abuse. We don't store it. To enforce posting limits we keep a one-way hash of it, mixed with a random value that changes every day and is then destroyed. Those records expire within 24 hours and can't be turned back into an address.
We are not able to tell which posts came from the same person, and we don't try to.
Your browser
We don't set cookies. (Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie when it checks for bots.) This site uses your browser's local storage to remember which posts you've already seen (so you aren't shown them again), your receipts, which responses you've given, and the date of your last visit. It never leaves your device, except:
- the IDs of posts you've seen, sent with each request for more posts;
- once a day, a plain yes or no: "visited in the last 7 days". It carries no identifier.
The posting page runs Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies.
Who else sees your post
Before a post is published, its text (and nothing else) is sent to OpenAI's moderation service to check for threats and other harmful content. OpenAI states that this service does not retain the text for abuse monitoring. No other outside service sees what you write.
What we keep long-term
Daily totals only: how many posts were written, in which field and which country, and similar counts, such as how many were rejected. They contain no text. When we publish totals, any group smaller than 10 is left out.
Requests
Because we don't know who wrote what, we can't find, export or correct "your" data for you. Use your receipt to delete your own post at any time. If we receive a lawful request about a post, the most we can hand over is its text, and only while it still exists.
